New member of the
PURUS PLASTICS co-leadership team.

Richard Metzler will succeed Thomas Manzei and assume the position of Managing Director of PURUS PLASTICS GmbH in Arzberg effective July 1, 2023.

A native of Switzerland who grew up in Munich, he has known PURUS for years and values its unique corporate culture. “We will build on, continue, and expand what we’ve achieved,” says Metzler, who aims to grow PURUS through innovation and strengthen the company to meet increasing competition. For him, a clear and rigorous focus on customers and products is essential to this effort.

Ms. Waltraud Zeisel remains at his side as a member of the management team. While she primarily oversees the commercial processes, Richard Metzler is responsible for the areas related to technology and sales.

“At a time when recycling, CO₂, and plastic waste are becoming increasingly important issues, we are very pleased that we were able to secure Mr. Metzler, our top choice, for PURUS,” says Thomas Manzei, who will continue to serve as an advisor to PURUS following his departure.

As a graduate in industrial engineering (FH), Metzler has more than 40 years of practical experience across various industries and possesses both extensive business knowledge and a deep technical understanding of plastics processing.

Joining forces: bopal + PURUS PLASTICS.

PURUS PLASTICS and bopal are joining forces to form a strategic partnership in the plastic pallet sector. PURUS, known as a 360° recycler and manufacturer of sustainable load carriers, will thus draw on the extensive experience and market expertise of Fred Bohland, Managing Director of bopal. Both parties will work closely together in the future to further develop and expand their respective product offerings. Bohland will assume the role of Business Development Manager, thereby directly supporting the Bavarian manufacturer. Richard Metzler, CEO of PURUS PLASTICS, sees numerous benefits for customers in this close collaboration: “We create sustainable customer value with custom-fit, new, and innovative load carriers.” The partnership thus sends a clear message to the market: “Count on us! PURUS PLASTICS is setting the course for the future

Thanks to its sustained upward trend and record revenue of 28.5 million euros last year, PURUS PLASTICS is looking to the future with confidence. The company is setting the course for the future and thereby laying the groundwork for further growth.

Sales Reorganization

Thomas Keller will assume the newly created role of “Head of Sales at PURUS PLASTICS” and take on this position of responsibility effective April 1, 2022. As the former team leader of the ECORASTER® product division, he will now oversee the entire sales department, including the plastic pallets, cable reels, and green roofs divisions.

Company founder and CEO Jürgen Manzei oversaw the company’s sales operations from its inception until he stepped down from day-to-day management and has since served in an advisory capacity. “Creating and filling this position is an important step. Mr. Keller has been with the company for more than 10 years and has demonstrated in the division under his responsibility that he possesses the skills to achieve growth targets and develop structures. He also has the courage to break new ground, which is important in sales,” said Jürgen Manzei.

The Recycling Pioneers from Arzberg are thus filling the responsible position from within their own ranks: “We are delighted that an internal candidate was able to assert himself during the application process and convince us. For months, the further strategic development of sales has been worked out and planned in close dialog with the management. Mr. Keller was already involved in this,” says Managing Director Thomas Manzei about the decision.

Managing Director Waltraud Zeisel on this step. “We have our sights firmly set on the future and are developing strategies that are essential for the company’s continued growth and development. We are proud that we have a team at PURUS that supports and implements these developments. Mr. Keller has been part of this team for a long time and has already taken the lead in the past. We are confident that he will do the same in his new role and master the challenges ahead.”
