Project description

In Arzberg, northeastern Bavaria, a heavily trafficked logistics area was successfully stabilized using the ECORASTER E50 ground reinforcement system. The goal was to create a permanently load-bearing, low-maintenance, and permeable surface that meets the high demands of a logistics operation—without the use of asphalt or concrete. The area is used for parking and maneuvering transport vehicles, forklifts, and inventory.

Project description

The ECORASTER E50 elements were installed on a subbase prepared with X30 and filled with mineral gravel to enhance mechanical stability. Thanks to their modular, open structure, the surface remains permeable and allows water to drain away, thereby preventing surface runoff and puddle formation.

Particularly noteworthy: The logistics area has been in use for over 16 years and shows no signs of damage from continuous use, which impressively underscores the system’s durability, stability, and low-maintenance design.

Benefits of the solution

  • High load-bearing capacity: The surface remains stable even under loads from forklifts and delivery vehicles.

  • Permeable: Rainwater can drain directly into the ground, reducing surface runoff and the formation of puddles.

  • Low-maintenance and durable: Long-term use without wear or sagging.

  • Flexible and modular: Expansions or repairs can be made at any time.

Thanks to this combination of heavy-duty capability, durability, and water drainage, the logistics site in Arzberg serves as a practical example of how ECORASTER E50 and X30 combine intensive use, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
