Project description
In 2017, a private parking area of approximately 144 m² was constructed in Waldkirch, Switzerland (Canton of St. Gallen), using the ECORASTER system. ECORASTER Bloxx elements were used for this project, a permeable grid paving system that offers both structural stability and design flexibility. By using concrete blocks in different shades of light gray and anthracite, the individual parking spaces were visually distinguished from one another while creating a harmonious overall appearance.
The ECORASTER Bloxx solution features a water-permeable, infiltrating structure that effectively drains rainwater into the ground—a sustainable alternative to conventional concrete or asphalt surfaces. In addition, the modular system allows for the quick and cost-effective creation of paved areas without the need for additional sealing. ECORASTER ground reinforcement grids are used worldwide to permanently pave parking lots, paths, driveways, and other traffic areas while supporting the natural water cycle.
By combining functional requirements (a stable, durable surface) with aesthetic design (paving sections in different colors), a durable private parking lot was created that meets both practical everyday needs and design standards.
