ECORASTER FAQ: the most important answers first

No, not if you value quality! We offer a 20-year warranty on our ECORASTER products, and as both a manufacturer and a raw material producer, we can guarantee consistently high and reliable quality. Our floor grids are made from recyclable LDPE, which makes them shatter-resistant, weather-resistant, and UV-stable.

Yes, ECORASTER grids can be driven over without any problems. Depending on the subgrade and the fill material used, loads of up to 800 tons per square meter have been tested by TÜV. The ECORASTER grids mentioned here can be driven over immediately after installation while they are still empty, which makes filling them considerably easier.

Yes, with more than 95% open surface area, a water column cannot accumulate on a standard ECORASTER surface. The final decision on the credit amount rests with the relevant authority or municipality.

Yes, ECORASTER surfaces can be cleared of snow using de-icing salt, a broom, a snowplow, or a brush roller/milling machine. Avoid clearing the surface with a snow blower. If you clear a surface treated with grit, grit may accumulate after the snow has melted. Simply sweep it back onto the surface.

Yes, however, there may be limitations to the performance of the ECORASTER system: If a subbase (water-bearing layer) is not used, surface drainage cannot be guaranteed. In addition, changes in the natural soil can result in unevenness and variations in load-bearing capacity. Thanks to the proven safety interlocking system, no edges or joints are formed.

No, the design of ECORASTER floor grids includes a number of expansion joints, which eliminate the need for edging. When installing, simply leave a gap of at least 5 cm from the edge. This will create an additional, continuous expansion joint.

Before determining how much gravel, crushed stone, etc., you need, you should accurately measure the area. For larger areas, you should use a leveling device or a laser. Calculate the amount needed to fill the grids as follows:
0.95 × area × grid height

For areas primarily used by trucks and heavy-duty vehicles (e.g., forklift traffic and turning circles), we recommend installing ECORASTER E50 with a 1–2 cm layer of crushed stone.

Yes, ECORASTER is a nearly single-material, environmentally neutral recycled product made from LDPE plastic. The trimmings can therefore be recycled without hesitation.

No, ECORASTER products cannot be combined with third-party products and can only be expanded with original accessories

Today, nearly half of our urban and transportation areas are sealed—that is, built up, concreted, paved, or otherwise mechanically compacted. The soil is cut off from all natural cycles, such as groundwater infiltration, and its vital functions are being lost. Currently, in Germany alone, we are converting approximately 104 hectares of land per day into land-use areas. It should be noted that land use does not automatically mean soil sealing. Nevertheless, the degree of soil sealing stands at around 46 percent.

To ensure that our ECORASTER ground reinforcement system continues to be delivered in the quality you have come to expect, we regularly undergo voluntary inspections and tests.

NATO-certified: ECORASTER S50
