Parking lot in Selb – sustainable paving with ECORASTER
A parking lot was constructed in Selb that offers a functional, durable, and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional asphalt surfaces. The goal was to create a parking area that could withstand daily use while allowing rainwater to drain naturally into the ground.
Creative design of parking areas
The ECORASTER ground grid system was used; it was installed on a prepared subgrade and backfilled with suitable material. This construction method creates a load-bearing yet flexible surface structure that can withstand the stresses of passenger vehicle traffic over the long term.
A key advantage lies in the open grid structure: Rainwater can seep away directly on site, ensuring that the surface remains easily passable even during rainfall and preventing waterlogging. At the same time, surface sealing is minimized, which has a positive effect on the water balance.
In addition, the system allows for a natural-looking surface design. Depending on the version, the surface can be landscaped, allowing it to blend discreetly into its surroundings.
